October may bring fall colors and crisp breezes, but it also brings a host of fun activities to SpringHouse. Once again, we offer events to foster the Art of Living.

Cooking classes added!
Saturday, October 10: pasta and ravioli
Thursday, October 15: risotto
Saturday, October 24: the perfect roasted chicken
What was to be our first cooking class is right around the corner, on the 15th, but has quickly reached capacity. To answer the enthusiasm for our cooking classes, we have added two more – on Saturday the 10th and Saturday the 24th at noon. By request, the original class on the 15th will be on risotto. Many people think that risotto is a dish, but it is actually a cooking method. To find out more, come to class. Wine dinner coming

SpringHouse will host its second wine dinner later this month. Lindsay Rogers from MBC-United Wholesale will feature American wines with Chef Rob McDaniel’s slow cooking.  The event will begin with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres at 7pm and dinner will be served at 7:45pm. The cost of this event is $75++ per person. There will be limited seating for this dinner, so be sure to make reservations early by calling SpringHouse at 256.215.7080. Last month, the wine dinner was such a treat. You don’t want to miss this one!

Local artist, Bonnie Luckie is coming back to SpringHouse for more great nights of art instruction and fun.  The $25.00 fee includes a 16 x 20 canvas, paints, brushes and two hours of instruction.  The hearth setting for the class provides a casual elegance to inspire even the most novice painter.  Come early to have a glass of wine with a friend or fellow classmate and share small plates afterwards and discuss the talent you’ve discovered. Bocce or croquet anyone?

Have you heard?  It’s time for bocce and croquet tournaments on most Thursday nights at SpringHouse. You and your friends are invited to play the games on the front lawn while enjoying hors d’oeuvres and your beverage of choice. The winning team of these tournaments will win a SpringHouse gift certificate. Don’t worry if you don’t know how to play. The SpringHouse folks will be there to instruct and get you started.  Be there at 5:30 with your game face on. Get your teams together now for these two classic games, and call to sign up.
