Belle Glos “Meiomi” Pinot Noir 2007, Sonoma Coast, California
Belle Glos is the Pinot Noir project of Chuck Wagner, better known for his iconic Caymus Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, Mer Soleil Chardonnay and Conundrum. His foray into Pinot Noir is every bit as impressive.
Meiomi (May-OH-mee), meaning “coast” in the language of the native Wappo tribe, references the origin of this Pinot Noir. Meiomi integrates the distinctive characteristics of California’s Sonoma Coast in this layered, fruit-driven Pinot Noir. This is a big, fruity Pinot Noir. It has more body and structure than you might expect and packs gobs of red fruit and spice. This is an excellent red wine choice with seafood, especially with shrimp and grits.
