Christmas season is upon us, and I’m happy to share a family recipe for Melt-Away Peppermint Wreaths that are sure to brighten up the holiday season. These are perfect treats to make for a family Christmas party or just for yourself!
1 ¼ Cups butter
¾ Cup powdered sugar
2 1/2 Cups all-purpose flour
¾ Tablespoon mint flavoring (Decrease and only put mint in the green balls. Put vanilla in the red ones.)
Red food coloring
Green food coloring
Cream butter and sugar, gradually add sugar, beating well. Add flour and mix well. Stir in flavoring. Divide color and flavor the halves separately. It’s easiest to make two recipes. Then, color each recipe respectively. Divide the dough in half in separate bowls. Color vivid red and green. Roll dough into balls using ½ Teaspoon per ball. Place six balls in a circle, alternating colors on an ungreased cookie sheet. Press together. Bake at 375 degrees for 8 minutes. Let cool for 10 minutes before moving to a rack. Yield: 3 dozen.
